A Leap of Faith
Molly Lynch was enchanted with this wonderful community from the minute when she first arrived in 1982. Looking for a more satisfying perspective on her life, Molly made a giant leap of faith when she pulled up her successful Southern California roots as Manager of Administrative Services for a large electronics corporation, overseeing a staff of 18 and a multi-million dollar budget. She set out on the daunting task of opening her own business in the beautiful Cambria area.
Cambria’s First Bed and Breakfast
Molly opened Cambria’s very first Bed and Breakfast. Called The J. Patrick House, it was named after her father. Although it became a thriving business she would later sell, it was—as Molly herself would describe it—the “business that almost never was.”
In the Face of Adversity
“I approached this huge undertaking with a fervent belief in my dream and a healthy dose of terror,” she explains. It took two years to get it built up and opened to the public. She faced obstacle after obstacle, but Molly’s determined spirit pushed her to do whatever it took to make her dream come true. “It was a labor of love,” she explains, “but a labor nonetheless.”

The amazing accomplishment of building this business from the ground up with her own bare hands and the indomitable spirit with which she pursued her dream says a lot about Molly.
